Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you, and we want you to get the full benefit of our time together. Please read our cancellation, rescheduling, late arrival, and no-show policies carefully.

 LATE ARRIVAL POLICY:

• To ensure you and your animal receive the full benefit of your session, please arrive on time. Your appointment will end as scheduled, even if you are delayed, to respect the next guest's booking. Please be aware that arrivals more than 15 minutes late may be subject to a $10.00 fee or considered a no-show.

CANCELLATION and RESCHEDULING POLICY:

• In-person or Virtual Animal Reiki appointments cancelled 24 hours or more before your scheduled appointment may be rescheduled without penalty.

• In-person or Virtual Animal Reiki appointments cancelled or rescheduled less than 12 hours before your scheduled appointment will result in the loss of that session. Because a late cancellation or reschedule results in a lost opportunity to book another client, these sessions are not eligible for a refund.

• A no-show for a scheduled Animal Reiki Zoom or Phone appointment will result in the loss of that session and will not be eligible for a refund or reschedule. If there are two no-shows for an Animal Reiki Zoom or Phone appointment, all remaining Zoom or Phone package appointments will be transferred to a “Fully Remote” appointment type or will require a $10.00 pre-booking fee each.

• Animal Reiki sessions booked as “Fully Remote” are not refundable.

EXCEPTIONS

• While a 24-hour notice for no penalty appointment cancellation or rescheduling is standard, exceptions may be granted at Karuna Animal Behavior Therapy’s sole discretion for verifiable medical emergencies (human or canine). Documentation from a medical professional or veterinarian may be requested to waive the late cancellation fee.

• Karuna Animal Behavior Therapy reserves the right to cancel or move in-person sessions indoors if weather conditions (e.g., extreme heat over 90°F, rain, lightning, or ice) threaten the safety of the animals or human participants. 

• If Karuna Animal Behavior Therapy cancels a scheduled appointment, a makeup session will be provided.

Consistency is crucial for your dog to learn and integrate new skills and behaviors. Please read our late arrival, cancellation, rescheduling, no-show, and exceptions policies carefully before purchasing a behavior coaching or behavior mediation package.

• In-person or Virtual Behavior Coaching appointments and In-person or Virtual Behavior Mediation appointments cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment will result in the loss of that session. Because a late cancellation or reschedule results in a lost opportunity to book another client, these sessions are not eligible for a refund.

• A no-show for a scheduled In-person or Virtual Behavior Coaching appointment or In-person or Virtual Behavior Mediation appointment will result in the loss of that session and will not be eligible for a refund or reschedule. If there are two no-shows for In-person or Virtual Behavior Coaching appointments or In-person or Virtual Behavior Mediation appointments, all remaining package appointments will require a $20.00 pre-booking fee each.

Documentation from a medical professional or veterinarian may be requested to waive the late cancellation fee.

• Karuna Animal Behavior Therapy reserves the right to cancel or move sessions indoors if weather conditions (e.g., extreme heat over 90°F, rain, lightning, or ice) threaten the safety of the dogs or handlers.

• If Karuna Animal Behavior Therapy cancels a scheduled appointment, a makeup session will be provided.

Because late cancellations or reschedules result in a lost opportunity to book another careseeker, these sessions are not eligible for a refund.

• A no-show for a scheduled Animal Chaplain appointment will result in the loss of that session and will not be eligible for a refund. If there are two no-shows for an Animal Chaplain package appointment, all remaining package appointments will require a $10.00 pre-booking fee each.
